Terence McNamara

Developer

Terry likes to surf. He's learning Ruby on Rails. He used to be a geologist.

I have been at the Interaction Consortium since January 2022. Previously, I worked as a mine geologist, operating in open cut and underground gold mines throughout Western Australia.

My path to becoming a web developer at the Interaction Consortium is different from most. Starting early in my career as a geologist, I got my hands dirty writing VBA and TCL scripts to automate daily spreadsheet and mine resource modeling tasks. Diving deeper down the rabbit hole, I found myself on a sabbatical in the tech hub of Berlin, where I was exposed to the world of web development and its potential. After spending some more time in the mines, the reality of COVID-19 provided me with the time to continue developing my programming skills, building real-world applications and eventually leading me to my new home at the Interaction Consortium.

Outside of work, you will find me in the outdoors, surfing the northern beaches, playing a game of tennis, or perhaps just staring at rocks.
